Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
From the north-facing lieu-dit Chavannes, the 2017 Côte de Brouilly unwinds to reveal scents of black raspberries, dried flowers, licorice and chocolate. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, layered and fleshy, with good concentration and an unusually prominent chassis of structuring tannin this year that Foillard attributes to the impact of hail. This will merit a year or two of bottle age.
