Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts in oak barrels from 500 litres. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels from 500 litres. Then remains 2 months on lees in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
Description
Barco del Corneta Judas is an aged white wine made exclusively from the Viura grape variety without denomination of origin by the Barco del Corneta winery in the Castilla y León region.
The grapes used to make this wine come from a vineyard more than 60 years old, located at 710 metres above sea level, on soils of siliceous sands and pebbles.
These vineyards have been cultivated with ecological techniques, respecting the environment and the diversity of the vineyard.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand and transported in 10 kg crates. At the winery, after a maceration of 12-18 hours, the whole grapes are pressed and fermented in two 500-litre oak barrels with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged for 12 months on its fine lees in 500-litre barrels. Before bottling, the wine is left to settle for 2 months in stainless steel tanks.
Taste
Barco del Corneta Judas is a wine with citrus aromas, floral aromas and herbal notes. In the mouth it is unctuous and fresh, with good acidity, volume and an easy passage.
