Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The superb new bottling of the NV Amontillado La Casilla seems to be in the hot spot, where it’s old but still very drinkable. It’s complex but doesn’t have the painful concentration of the very old wines. It has a beautiful nose that screams Amontillado, with very complex aromas, white pepper, soy sauce, curry, rusty nail, low tide and salted nuts, and the freshness of an Amontillado of Sanlúcar origin. The palate is lighter than it seems. 572 half-liter bottles were filled.
