Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The golden colored 2015 Ama comes from a very warm and dry year when they selected grapes that were exceptionally ripe—the wine is close to 14% alcohol. It has notes of ripe yellow fruit and sensations of lemon meringue and sweet spices. 2015 is the only vintage when they have been able to produce this wine. The palate is round and lush, and the acidity feels very mellow, with a gourmand sensation and sweet fruit flavors but finishing dry. Ten percent of the volume fermented and matured in oak barrel for a couple of months. It’s very distinct and unusual, perhaps not the wine you expect if looking for Txakoli. 5,160 bottle and 418 magnums were filled in December 2017.
