Description
Le Coste Litrozzo is a white wine made with grapes of the local varieties Procanico, Malvasia, Roscetto, Romanesca and Petino.
The grapes come from different young and old vineyards with an average life of 20 years that have been planted on volcanic soils rich in iron and minerals surrounding the Bolsena Lake in northern Lazio of Italy.
Winemaking
The grapes are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture, paying attention to the needs of each individual plant and avoiding the use of chemical products.
The grapes are harvested by hand at the optimum point of ripeness. At the winery, in the centre of the village, the grapes underwent direct pressing with alcoholic fermentation using indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks and no additives are used at any stage of the process. The wine then spends 9 months in fibreglass tanks and is finally bottled in 1 litre bottles, unfiltered, unclarified and with no added sulphites.
Taste
Le Coste Litrozzo is an aromatic white wine that stands out for its intense citrus fragrance. On the palate, it is wild, fresh and citrusy, very energetic and easy to drink, with a vibrant acidity that harmonises perfectly with the rest of the nuances.
A light, crisp and unconventional wine.
Le Coste Litrozzo is an organic white wine from the Vino da Tavola appellation of the Le Coste winery.
It is born from the old local grapes Procanico, Malvasia, Roscetto, Romanesca and Petino, with the intention of returning to the peasant wine.
It is a precious homage to wines made in the traditional way, using ancient varieties and ancestral methods.
Gastronomically speaking, this wine is particularly recommended as an aperitif and accompaniment to grilled vegetables and sushi.
And you, have you tried this wonderful wine yet? Tell us what you think!
