Looking at my notes, I should have asked to try a second bottle of the 2017 Saint-Joseph Les Granits Blanc, as I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something off about the bottle that we tried, despite Michel Chapoutier and the rest of his team having given it the nod of approval. I’ll report on another sample as soon as I’m able to source one.
