Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
A blend of old-vine Macabeo and 50% younger-vine Garnacha Blanca, the 2020 Manda Huevos Blanco Carramainas is from a warmer vintage than the 2021, which I tasted next to it. They harvest by acidity, not by alcohol, and curiously enough, the 2020 is slightly lower in alcohol than the 2021; it was harvested 10 days earlier. This has 13% alcohol, and curiously enough, it’s more austere and closed on the nose, perhaps with more effect of the lees. 2,916 bottles. It was bottled in March 2022.
