Description
Matassa Mambo Sun is a French red wine produced and distributed by the Matassa Languedoc winery. This winery was created by the winemaker Tom Lubbe, and it is located in the south of France, specifically in the Pyrenees region.
It is a vineyard that produces wines characterised by their quality, flavour and aroma, as well as by their low manipulation and little addition of chemical compounds. For this, grapes from very old vines are used, with an age of at least 30 to 115 years. This element is characteristic when we talk about excellent quality.
Winemaking
Matassa Mambo Sun is a natural red wine, produced from a blend of 70% Grenache, white, grey and red grapes and 30% Macabeo grapes, planted on black slate soils. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified in whole bunches, without destemming, using methods that are in harmony with the environment. The maceration period is short, lasting only 5 days.
Gentle pressing techniques are also used, followed by alcoholic fermentation with the fruit’s own yeasts in concrete tanks. The ageing process lasts 6 months in the same tanks. The wine is bottled unfiltered and with the passage of time its flavours and aromas manage to settle down to enjoy an exclusive wine, which of course, is also of more value.

Matassa Mambo Sun is an expressive red wine, a bomb of fruity, fresh and elegant flavours. Its predominant flavours and aromas are of black and red fruits, flowers and spices, with a touch of vanilla and citrus tones. Its alcohol percentage is 12% and it has low residual sugar.
