Description
Matthieu Barret Black Flag is a young red wine made from Syrah grapes from the Rhone Valley region by Matthieu Barret of the Domaine du Coulet winery in France.
This wine has been made from young vines that have been planted for twenty years on clay and limestone soils on the Ardechois slopes west of the Rhône River.
These vineyards have been cultivated using certified biodynamic viticulture methods and a low intervention process in the cellar.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand, then completely destemmed and subjected to a 15-day maceration in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation is carried out with natural yeasts in concrete tanks for 2 weeks to preserve the purity of the fruit.
The wine is aged for 12 months in concrete eggs and used oak barrels. It is then bottled without fining and with very little sulphur added.
Taste
Matthieu Barret Black Flag is a very fresh, silky and delicate Syrah with fruity and spicy notes. The palate is savoury, medium-bodied and absolutely delicious on very soft tannins– a pleasant and lively Northern Rhône!
A fresh and complex wine
Matthieu Barret Black Flag is one of the best Syrah wines from the Frenchman Matthieu Barret of the Domaine du Coulet winery.
In the gastronomic field, this is an ideal wine to enjoy with friends and perfectly accompanies dishes with red meat, roast poultry and blue cheese.
And you, have you tried this wonderful wine yet? Tell us what you think of it!
