Description
Cims de Porrera Vi de Vila Blanc is a white wine produced in the D. O. Ca. Priorat, in Catalonia. It brings together the characteristics of four different grape varieties: Grenache Blanc, Macabeo, Pedro Jiménez and Picapoll Blanc.
As the name suggests, the vineyards are located in the municipality of Porrera, in the province of Tarragona. Moreover, the main characteristic of these plantations is that they are located in licorella soil, which provides mineral characteristics to the grapes throughout their development.
Winemaking
The winemaking process involves a manual harvesting stage, selecting the best grapes that will later be used to extract the must. Subsequently, the wine undergoes a fermentation process which takes place both in concrete and in oak barrels.
Finally, after the fermentation process, the wine undergoes a period of ageing in cement vats and glass demijohns. Specifically, this part of the process lasts for a period of approximately 9 months.
Taste
On the nose, its aroma is floral, with citric and fruity notes, while in the mouth its flavour combines a perfect balance of acidity and smoothness. It is a young, light and fresh wine, which due to its characteristics is the ideal accompaniment for meals based on white meat dishes, rice or mushrooms.
Complexity and freshness in the same glass.
Cims de Porrera Vi de Vila Blanc is a wine that stands out not only for its fresh and pleasant flavour, but also for its well-structured structure, in which deep, mineral flavours stand out. In short, it is an ideal wine for the most demanding palates.
