Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The 1995 Colheita Port is a 2015 bottling (remembering that most Colheita producers will bottle on demand for many items) that comes in with 100.9 grams per liter of residual sugar. Mingling a bright feel with some dark caramel and molasses popping up on the finish, this is very fine. Basically a 20 year Tawny, this shows fine concentration of flavor and aromatics for its relatively young age. It emphasizes its acidity and its impressively gripping finish. The concentration level is average for its age, but everything else is a cut above. A good value, this impeccably well-balanced Tawny is in fine form. Note that Noval’s Colheitas come with regular, long corks.
