Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
Very young yet flinty and still with some yeasty notes on the floral nose, the 2018 Scharzhofberger Riesling Kabinett Feinherb is a lush, round, pretty sweet but also straight, piquant and stimulatingly salty Kabinett with a well-structured, intensely fruity and aromatic finish. The wine has lingering salinity and piquancy and impressive length but is still somewhat austere. Not really a classic Kabinett style, but it’s a delicious Riesling to have with food—in 10+ years.
