Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
I also tasted the very young 2020 Sela, an aromatic and velvety red with enough spice to balance the fruit and make it very attractive. It has some dusty tannins that should not be noticeable if you drink it with food.

Description
Sela is the youngest and freshest red wine of Bodega Roda. It is made from a blend of Tempranillo grapes (95%) and a small amount of Graciano (2%) and Garnacha (3%) from La Rioja Alta.
In the gastronomic field it is very pleasant with any starter, adapting perfectly to fish. On the other hand, it is a great option as a wine to drink with pinchos or tapas.
Elaboration
The grapes are selected by hand. These grapes come from 150 hectares of vineyards with an average age of 15 to 30 years. The soils of the vineyards are characterised by their altitude and particular weather conditions, in the Obarenes Mountains (Rioja Alta).
The spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentation process has been carried out in French oak vats. The wine is aged in 100% semi-new French oak barrels for 12 months.
Stabilisation is carried out using natural methods and clarification is carried out with egg albumin.
Taste
It is silky and easy to drink. In the mouth it is of medium volume and continuous. It has a lot of freshness and the tannin is fine, full of fresh fruit that mingles with each other. It is very long and pleasant.
A fresh and young wine
Sela is a wine from sustainable vineyards with a pleasant freshness and an excellent aromatic blend. It is ready to drink, with a shorter ageing period than other wines and the ability to keep for years.
It is a young wine, especially for people who are just starting to experience the passion for good wine.
