Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The white 2020 Tentenublo Blanco comes from different plots, and one of them (Calagraño) is fermented with skins, so it marks the nose with some unusual aromatics. The breakdown comes to 40% Viura, 30% Calagraño (or Jaen Blanca), 20% Malvasía Riojana and 10% Garnacha Blanca, approximately, from two plots. It fermented in concrete vats, where the wine matured with lees for eight months. So, the wine does not have any oak anymore and comes through as fruit-driven but with a spicy twist (that I thought was due to flor, but Oliván tells me it comes from the skin contact). It’s young and tender, with good volume and freshness (it didn’t go through malolactic) and moderate alcohol (13.5%) and ripeness. Very tasty and floral. 5,438 bottles and 12 magnums were filled in August 2021.
