Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The classical 2018 Torre Albéniz Reserva, produced with a majority of Tempranillo and 5% other grapes, such as Garnacha and Albillo, feels generously oaked after 27 months in barrel. It is ripe without excess despite the 15% alcohol and has the freshness from 2018. It was produced with head-pruned, organic and biodynamic grapes from their older vineyards. It’s a bit of a contradiction, but this feels riper than the 2019, which comes from a warmer and drier year. 52,015 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2021.
